The district administration has cleared funding for four water filtration plants, a decision officials described as the largest single addition to the local supply network in more than a decade.

Two of the plants are scheduled to open before the end of the year. The remaining two will follow once the connecting pipeline work is finished.

What changes for residents

What happens next

A tendering notice will be published in the coming weeks. Residents can submit objections about siting through the district office during the consultation period.
